KETTUNEN
MY music reimagines our world in a magical, quirky, and abstract language of sound.
Tuomas Kettunen (b. 1992) is a Finnish composer of contemporary classical music. His style combines modern classical elements, electronic sounds, and movement between sound and noise.
His compositions builds bridges between music and the surrounding world by transforming everyday realities into musical language shaped by humour, empathy, warmth, and mystery — emphasizing human connection between composer, performers, audiences, and fellow artists.
His music has been performed across Finland and Europe, including commissions from Gaudeamus [NL] and Time of Music [FI] festivals, and performances with Riot Ensemble [UK], ensemble recherche [GER], Oulu Symphony [FI], and Helsinki Chamber Choir [FI].
Kettunen holds a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and has also studied at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, alongside participating in international masterclasses with leading composers of our time.
