Program notes:
en: The title of the piece “Sarastus” is a Finnish word for dawn, more precisely to the exact moment of the first sunlight in the morning. The music is based on this moment – it begins in darkness but overtime the lightness takes over. Dawn can also be seen as a metaphor for new beginning, circulation, rebirth or hope.e refers to the dark varnished wood from which the instruments are crafted, as if the instruments were the catalysts of these gloomy and quirky visions.
