Fractured Mechanics

  The title of the work refers to the fragility of the musical material. The material partly consists of quiet gestures, hovering on the verge of silence, which grow stronger and clearer until they break back into silence and noise. Some of the material sways on the boundary between pitch and noise. The form of the work also contains cracks and fractures, leading to sudden changes of situation and, on the other hand, flashbacks to previously heard music, though in a distorted form.
